Today I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to be the guest speaker at Clarion University‘s 10th annual Juneteenth Celebration! The theme of today’s event was, “and Justice for All!” It was a great event that featured live music, poetry and interpretive dance. I delivered the keynote address, which sought to highlight the linkages between Juneteenth, the emancipation of African descendants and some of the most pressing issues of our day like, mass incarceration, the Occupy movement and the Arab Spring. All of these issues were tied together through Hip-Hop and #HipHopEd! Please share your thoughts and comments! We must continue to Build and Work together to make a Difference!
